Hey folks!

Asus has announced the release of the new Zephyrus S gaming laptop, and it comes as some other laptop companies are constantly developing and building thinner laptops with even thinner bezels. The Zephyrus S just began on this journey and it's what it's designed for. The gaming laptop apparently is the company’s thinnest gaming laptop to date and an alternative to its other heavier Asus gaming laptops.

The Zephyrus S laptop comes in two models, the first is actually sold only at Amazon. The first SKU will retail for $2,199, is equipped with GTX 1070 Max Q graphics, an 8th-gen Core i7 chip, 16GB RAM, a 15.6-inch 144Hz full HD screen with 3ms response time, and as well as a 512GB NVMe solid state drive.

There isn't much attractive changes when you compare it to the original Zephyrus and the follow-up Zephyrus M. The notable changes are the thinner bezels and chassis, a smaller frame and yes, the touchpad, which is located on the right again. If you check, You will find Aluminum, magnesium, and plastic materials throughout the Zephyrus S’ chassis; it basically feels smooth and mild to touch.

According to The Verge, The company saw it necessary to advertising the configuration of the Zephyrus S because it apparently has a better GPU, And a look-alike version that has all the same specs will be sold for the sum of $100 less ($2,000), with two exceptions being the full size GTX 1060 chip and a 1TB hard drive.

Yes there is more:

The improved Active Aerodynamic System supports the underside of the laptop upward and opens the bottom plate and with the availability of more fan blade, significant airflow is guaranteed. Also available is programmable lighting, and since less of the chassis is exposed now through the plate which is built from magnesium, there’s less flex and give to the machine.

Asus had another announcement for the Republic of Gamers brand in the form of a 17-inch laptop. It has the same gaudy camo pattern from the 15-inch Strix Scar II that I reviewed in July, except that it uses a lower-end GTX 1060 graphics chip.
The 17-inch screen retains the same 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and 100 percent sRGB coverage that Asus is known for using lately on its gaming laptops. The rest of Scar II’s specs still stay the same, including the Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and a 256GB SSD. As it is now, the Scar II GL704 will sell for $1,699 in the “last half of September.”

In addition, Asus is including a new central command app called Armoury Crate for lighting, performance, and fan settings. Prior to the release of this app, you had to use different apps to control the hardware settings on Zephyrus laptops, which honestly got complex. As for the Armoury Crate app, it will be available for shipping with the Zepyhrus S and future products.

Right now the Asus Zepyhrus S with a 1070 MaxQ chip will start shipping on August 31st, only at Amazon for the sum of  $2,199. Meanwhile, the lower-end GTX 1060 variant will be available for purchase in mid-October as a “channel-wide” release, for the sum of $2,099.
