How To Resolve Over-sensitive Screen Issue On iphone Device

Resolving iphone over-sensitive problem

Have you ever tried to get on your favorite app on your iPhone and notice that the screen uncontrollably scrolls by itself?Although this doesn't happen all the time but it can be very annoying.

When your phone screen is oversensitive, it weirdly acts up, moves around and selects screen icons by itself. Then sometimes, you notice your phone screen starts zooming in and in out on its own with just touching the screen once.  All these makes it difficult for you to scroll around your home screen, browse the internet, read emails and it sometimes makes it difficult for you to make phone calls.  I have come across these issue before and trust me, it can be very annoying.   I found this issue when I noticed that the screen on my iPhone5S was over sensitive as I tried to open the Facebook App.  I was trying to get on the Facebook App to chat with my buddies when I I got the issue.  This is what happened:
Whenever I touch the screen, it spontaneously jumps and moves unevenly on its own, just as if it's auto swiping on its own.
This also happens on Apps like Chrome, and sometimes, Safari.   I have heard people say the major cause could be as a result of not using the official Apple Charger but I don't think that's the problem as I've always used the official Apple charger.

The Good news is this;  I'll share with you three steps you can take in troubleshooting the problem and I believe one of them should be enough to resolve the issue.

1. Put The Device To Sleep Mode-   What this basically does is save power when you are not using your phone but I've tested this and it has help me resolve the issue of oversensitive screen.  When the phone is on sleep mode, the temperature of the phone reduces .   Although most phones automatically go into sleep mode when it's not in use  for 2mins, there is a need for you to put your device to sleep mode when you notice the screen starts moving up and down on its own.  You can as well restart your phone but if you are in a hurry, you can Simply put your device to sleep mode for a minute and turn it back on by clicking the "Home" button which is right below the screen.    Manually putting your phone to sleep is very easy.   To put your phone to sleep mode, press the power bottom located on the top of the device, towards the right side and quickly release it.
Once you have done this, your phone should be working fine without any hinderances.
If the problem still persist, Try out the next option.

2. iOS Update-  Running previous iOS version on your device could be the root of the problem. This can affect the performance of your device by causing apps to malfunction. This sometimes happen as a result of running applications that are meant for the latest iOS version.

If you want to check if you have the latest iOS version,  From your home screen, Click on the icon 'Settings', Then Click 'General', and just below 'About', Click 'Software Update'. Once you discover you need to update your device,  you will see a message that says 'Download and install'.
Note:  The update requires a Wi-Fi network connection to download.

First thing you need to do before downloading is to plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

Now tap "Download and Install".  In the process, you may get a message saying you should remove Apps because iOS needs more space for update. Once you get this message, just tap 'continue' and some apps would be automatically removed but no need to worry because iOS would automatically reinstall those apps it removed later.   If you choose  'Cancel', you can get help Here

Now it's time to Update:  To install the update, just tap 'Install' and that's it. You can as well opt to install later by tapping 'Later'. Once you tap 'Later', you will be prompt to choose between 'Install Tonight' or 'Remind me Later'.  If you choose 'Install Tonight', you would have to ensure that you plug your device into power before going to bed because your device would need enough power to automatically update overnight.

Oops! I almost forgot; Make sure you had already backup all your data before updating iOS.

Connecting iPhone device to computer to install iTunes

In case you are unable to update through wireless, you can try updating iOS manually using iTunes on a Computer.  This requires you to follow the following steps:

Step One-  install the latest version of iTunes on your Computer.
Step Two-  Connect your iOS device to the computer
Step Three-  Open iTunes and select your device on it.
Step Four-  Click on 'Summary' and click 'Check for Updates'
Step Five-  Click 'Update'
Step Six-   You may be asked to enter your passcode. In case you don't know the passcode, contact the The Apple Support Team here

3. Restore Device- Restoring device isn't an easy task and I would not recommend you to do this unless the issue on your phone is more complicated. To restore your device, Connect your phone to a computer, then select your iPhone in 'Devices' and head to 'Summary', then click 'Restore' and don't forget to create a backup if you haven't created any one.

There you have it folks.  Updating iOS eventually put an end to my phone screen acting weird. That might be the solution to yours if you carefully follow the steps.  I hope I was able to assist you with this little post.  I would love to answer any questions you have for me.
